Definition: [ ~ to do something ] An act of not doing something, especially something that you are expected to do.

1. You are aware that it is your responsibility, duty or an exaction on you, to do particular or specific thing.

2. Your inability or refusal is considered deliberate, as no excuse will be accepted for shirking responsibility.

4. You will pay a price or serve a punishment for 'transgression'.

5. A serious loss or major losses is/are caused by your inaction.

6. Thing can ordinarily be done. That is, you have the wherewithal (= time and space, energy, resources, ability or skill, authority, etc., etc.) to start and complete task. (To emphasize, connect to #2.)

7. Thing was not started before a change of mind put a stop to effort.

8. Thing is left undone in the end. That is, someone else is not able to be mobilized or ordered to do thing.
