| FACETIOUSNESS Definition: The act of trying to appear amusing and intelligent at a time when other people do not think it is appropriate, and when it would be better to be serious. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and considered necessary, for who acts inappropriately. 2. No cooperation or understanding will be shown by the others. 3. Caution, discouragement, warning, signs, etc. that would be given or indicated to the facetious person would be completely disregarded. 4. Expectation of a commendation, an applause, etc. will exist in the situation. That is, who tries hopes to be noticed, appreciated, etc. 5. Some loss will be suffered, especially by who is not being reasonable, in the long run, as a consequence of 'impropriety'. 6. A lesson will be learned as a direct fallout of mistimed efforts. 7. Acts, actions, comments, etc. would ordinarily be sensible and brilliant, and would otherwise have been funny, useful and/or made more meaning under changed or different circumstances (to emphasize). 8.
