| EXTREMIST Definition: (usually disapproving) A person whose opinions, especially about religion or politics, are extreme, and who may do things that are violent, illegal, etc. for what they believe. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Self-developed or self-taught, not really the direct result of an indoctrination or compulsion. That is, won't tell a 'story' to justify the 'madness'. 2. Understanding will be 'warped', especially in the opinion of those who are 'right-thinking' members of the society - though extreme person never agrees. 3. Fixed in his or her opinion(s) or belief(s). Therefore a change, reform, etc. must go his or her way. 4. Will consider nothing as a loss, in furtherance of beliefs. And is ready to bear any inconvenience, pay any price, etc. in pursuit of same. 5. Has no 'middle ground' to operate in. That is, takes no prisoners, makes no concessions or compromises, etc. 6. Waiting impatiently and/or permanently ready to 'explode'. That is, person has no element of self-restraint or self-control. 7. Never wrong in his or her own eyes and, therefore, will never apologize, express a regret, show some remorse, etc. 8. Will not serve a punishment quietly, whenever successfully prosecuted for an offense. That is, cannot be cowed. In other words, will scream in, or 'roar' from, the prison!
