| EXTERIOR (2) Definition: The way that somebody appears or behaves, especially when this is very different from their real feelings or character. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, in the person's opinion, to put up appearances or present a facade. 2. Does not involve an illegality, even if this is immoral or some strange look or act. 3. There will be a benefit, gain, etc. for the person pretending. That is, fake appearance or behaviour will achieve objective(s). 4. Shown, exhibited, directed at others. That is, not a private, secretive or secluded appearance or behaviour. 5. Exists or lasts for period of time desired to help achieve goal(s). 6. Will not be discovered/recognized by others as unreal or a put-on. 7. Person's real, true feeling or character is not close to what is shown outwardly (to emphasize, see definition). 8. True feelings and character can be reverted to whenever desired. That is, pretension will have no bearing on the person's behaviour afterwards. 9.
