| EXPIRATION (1) Definitions: i. (North American English, formal) An ending of the period of time when an official document can be used, or when an agreement is valid. ii. (US) A coming to an end (of what is limited in time). ______________________________________________________________________ * All five elements above the line should be in. 1. The thing, or agreement, has fully fulfilled the purpose(s) of its existence, or achieved its goal(s). 2. Thing has no residual value after it comes to an end. That is, becomes worthless on the lapse of time. 3. The end it came to, is at the right or correct time, in the opinion of the manufacturer/user/owner, as stated or indicated on the thing (not before the expected time - see definition, to emphasize). 4. Thing is discarded or destroyed on coming to its end (connect to # 2 above the line). 5. Date and/or time of expiry is not unambiguous.
