Definition: An act of leaving, especially of an actor from the stage.

* All eight elements should be in.


1. Purposeful and necessary to leave.

2. As at the time as directed in the script. That is, after playing of part in a scene, etc.

3. Pace is appropriate - promptly, especially if another actor is making an entry, unless the instruction/directive in script is to depart very slowly.

4. Departure is confident, assured - not arising from or after a boo, slow handclap, stage fright, etc.

5. Leaves, forgets or drops nothing on the stage in error (that is, not written as part of script).

6. Does not result in ill health or exhaustion, from the environment of the stage and/or nature of performance.

7. Not expected to be seen again. That is, gone for good, unless ... .

8. Act serves purpose(s) or achieves goal(s).
