Definition: A way of forgetting something unpleasant or difficult for a short time.

1. Purposeful and considered necessary to temporarily forget thing.

2. Consciousness is still possessed. That is, person does not 'compulsorily' fall asleep or get sedated in order to avoid remembering.

3. Means - its concentration or focus, does not permit for a little flashback or some memory recall or a deja vu experience.

4. Nothing happens during period that can connect coincidentally or be an 'encounter' with what is desired to be forgotten.

5. Duration is considered as truly short (see definition).

6. No unplanned loss is suffered and no new unpleasantness or difficulty is got into, in the 'interlude', by the things involved in that are intended to be 'distractions'.

7. Unpleasantness or difficulty does not become worse at the end of activity meant to be a distraction. And no change for the worse, in its level or intensity, will be experienced afterwards.

8. The means, whether legal or illegal, serves purpose(s).
