Definitions:

i. Words that are written or said about a dead person, especially words on a gravestone.

ii. Words inscribed on a gravestone or other monument in memory or in praise of a dead person or persons.

iii. A short, pithy tribute to a dead person, especially in verse.

5. Inscriptions, pronunciations, etc. are very clear - not to be deliberately made obscure or difficult to comprehend. ('Say, say'.)

6. (Reserved.) (Wordings or choice of words are not those written by the deceased when he/she was alive.) (Go, go!)

7. Brief and truly short - not his or her 'life story'. (Not an epistle.)

8. Read or heard and believed by readers/listeners. (No exaggeration or embellishment.)

9. Writing, speech, tribute, etc. serves purpose(s). (Clap. clap.)
