| ENQUIRY (3) Definition: The act of asking questions or collecting information about somebody/something. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and considered necessary to ask question or to collect information about somebody/something. 2. An introduction of self and a mention of intention is made. That is, full disclosure of identity and specific details of request is told to the person to provide answer/data. 3. Act is directed at the the right person/party who is in a position to respond appropriately. 4. Request, question, demand, etc. is complete, clearly heard and also understandable. 5. Method is right - threat, pleading, cajoling, etc. - for the occasion and the person - elder, boss, slave, etc. - to give a response, be this persistent or lackadaisical. 6. There is an ability and a readiness to receive and remember an answer and/or retain the collected information, when offered. 7. Response is obtained from inquiry made, be this a No or Yes or a Don't know or a Maybe or No comment. (Not silence or an attack on the questioner!) (Connect to #8.) 8.
