| EMPOWERMENT (2) Definition: The act or process of giving somebody more control over their own life or the situation they are in. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, especially for who gives. 2. Given timely when it can still help to achieve purpose(s). 3. Legal or appropriately authorized. That is, approved - if required, and given by the right person/party/organ, etc. 4. What is given - controls, restraints, restrictions, etc. - are as stipulated by law (to emphasize). 5. Cooperation, alliance, collaboration, etc. is available and can be offered or provided for person, if requested. 6. Condition(s), if any, still guiding relationship, after more control is ceded, is/are not stiffling. 7. Progress or success is achievable, in the new situation, for who gets the 'freedom' or a better opportunity. 8. Success that can or will be attained will or can be long-lasting, durable or sustainable. 9. Situation lasts for duration desired by the beneficiary.
