| EMBARRASSMENT (2) Definition: [ ~ (to/for somebody) ] A situation which causes problems for somebody. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Situation is ordinarily not expected to cause a problem. Or person is believed to possess the capacity to avert problem or to tackle the issue before it becomes a problem. 2. Situation is specific and identifiable. That is, problem is real or realistic: known. 3. There is no immediate answer to issue, though matter (= problem) can or may be resolved later. That is, an instant solution or response to situation cannot be provided when it occurs. 4. A loss, disarray or confusion, mistake, etc. will arise in the situation or as a result of the problem. 5. An acceptable or plausible explanation cannot be given in the circumstances. Or the (an) explanation given is never believed. 6. Situation lasts for an unnecessarily long period of time, in the sufferer's opinion. 7. The event, happening, do, act, etc. will not be quickly forgotten. And will hate to be recalled or remembered. (And it cannot disappear or be wished away.) 8. Loss, disgrace, etc. cannot be recouped or made up for afterwards. That is, it is impossible to make amends in the aftermath of situation. 9.
