| ELEVATOR (1) Definition: (North American English) A machine that carries people or goods up and down to different levels in a building or a mine. ______________________________________________________________________ * All twelve elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (connect to #2). 2. Considered a necessity to instal and use machine. 3. There is enough space inside for users/goods. 4. Well-lit, especially at night or in the dark hours. 5. Panel on which floor or distance/depth indicator can be pressed or seen is clear or readable. 6. Clean, neat and tidy. 7. Never stops midway. And never crashes! That is, power source does not get disrupted while machine is being used. In other words, lift is ordinarily safe and secured to be in (connect to #11). 8. Has instructions on the maximum weight allowed in. 9. Has a button or bell to press in case of an emergency. And, where possible, an escape exit/route! 10. Its ambience is conducive for the occupants. That is, the inside condition, especially the 'room' temperature, is convenient for persons/goods. 11. The speed of machine - up and down - is not 'heart-wrenching' or heart-stopping! 12. Serves purpose(s).
