| ELECTABILITY Definition: (of a contestant in a multiple-candidates election) Having the quality of being considered electable from a list. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Eligibility or qualification to be on ballot will not be under a serious challenge or called to question prior election day. 2. The processes or procedures used in nominating or selecting the person put forward will not be considered by supporters as divisive - forget the sponsor(s) or backer(s). 2. Candidate's reputation will be rock solid. That is, not someone that is regarded as likely to be disloyal to party (manifesto), a flip-flop (without convictions), etc. - forget rigging possibilities ! 3. Has goodwill or will give some reliable assurances that the interests of the voters will be better defended or protected the best, when he or she gets into office - forget the records ! 5. Will not need to be dependent on an alliance or seek cooperation from another candidate or party to win or secure a majority.
