| DUSTBIN Definition: (British English) A large container with a lid, used for putting rubbish/garbage in, usually kept outside the house. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (connect to #2), even if living far and/or apart from some others.. 2. Considered necessary to have container outside house, either as a rule or by the requirement of resident, nature of the area, etc. 3. Empty and clean before being brought outside. 4. Size and dimensions are appropriate. And it never overflows. (To emphasize, connect to #6 & #8.) 5. Container has no opening, cut or tear. That is, an unpleasant smell or odour is not expected to escape once lid is on. 6. Lid is usually securely in place, except when container is opened for garbage to be put in. 7. Accessible to only authorized person(s). That is, rubbish/garbage can only be put in or taken out by authorized person(s). In other words, container will not ordinarily pose a danger to people, passers-by, society, etc. and to the ecosystem or the environment, when it is emptied. 8.
