| DUMBING DOWN Definition: The act of making something less accurate or educational, and of worse quality, by trying to make it easier for people to understand. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (see definition). 2. Considered necessary to adopt system to achieve an understanding. 3. Target audience is intelligent enough to comprehend matter, but only if altered to be less accurate. 4. No confusion arises as a result of amendment. 5. Loss in situation is minor and unimportant. That is, what is removed is not a very important part of subject matter. 6. What is understood after effort is enough to help achieve the objective(s). And there will be no inkling that something was removed to make understanding easier. 7. There will be no desire to probe more, in search of additional information, knowledge, etc. 8. (Reserved.)
