| DRYNESS (10) Definition: (of a place or an environment) Being without alcohol, especially where it is illegal to buy, sell or drink alcohol. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Purposeful (connect to #2). 2. Necessary for place to be 'dry', particularly if this is as a result of a rule, religion, etc. (See definition, connect to #3.) 3. (Reserved.) (No 'offence' is caused by the absence of alcohol.) 4. Adequate and appropriate publicity is given about situation. 5. Nothing is lost by the owners or managers of place, or by the inhabitants of the environment, by lack of alcohol. 6. Law establishing the situation is not being challenged or under current review. 7. No shift or feeling to some other dangerous 'vices' is caused or engendered, by the absence of alcohol, by those who would have bought, sold or drank booze. (To emphasize.) 8. Lack of alcohol and/or presence in place lasts for a period considered tolerable. (And no possibility of bootlegging, no availability of a viable substitute, etc.!) 9.
