| DROP ZONE Definition: The area in which somebody/something should land after being dropped from an aircraft. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary (see definition). 2. Unmistakable for the navigator/pilot/co-pilot, etc. 3. Cleared. That is, area can be landed on without encountering obstacles such as trees, overhead cables/wires, etc. - in the air - on the way down, to cause a damage/destruction to the person/object being dropped. 4. Sky above the area is safe for aircraft (and crew!) that is to drop person/thing. That is, not from a no-fly zone that is under the control of enemy aircraft(s)! 5. Area on ground is safe, secured and protected for landing, not an 'enemy' territory! 6. Weather condition in the area, at the time of landing, is appropriate for the person/object being dropped. 7.
