Drinking-up time
DRINKING-UP TIME

Definition: (British English) In Britain, the time between when a pub stops serving drinks and when it closes, when people are allowed to finish drinks that they bought earlier.

2. Considered necessary by pub manager(s) to have the specific time.

3. Patrons (= drunks?!) are notified at the beginning of the period.

4. Timepiece (= watch, clock, etc.) is not (re)adjusted to shorten or lengthen the time (to emphasize).

45 minutes.


5. Time or duration is enough, especially for slow drinker(s).

55 minutes.


6. Time serves purpose(s). That is, drinker(s) finishes their drinks without the problem of rushing or hurrying. Or asking for another beer, etc. and threatening 'fire and brimstone', if not served!
