| DREADLOCKS Definition: Hair that is twisted into long thick pieces that hang down from the head, worn especially by Rastafarians. ______________________________________________________________________ * All ten elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to keep hair in particular style (connect to #2, to emphasize). 2. Wearer understands and is a practitioner of Rastafarianism. 3. Hair is clean and neat, even though looking untidy. That is, no lice, dirt, dandruff, etc. in the bushy dreads. In other words, hair is washed and oiled regularly. 4. Length is appropriate, in the opinion of Rasta. 5. (Reserved.) (Length of hair does not ordinarily obstruct the view or sight of the wearer.) 6. Hair is natural, not artificial. 7. No unplanned loss arises from looks caused by the hair. 8. Does not make wearer ugly or uglier than usual (to emphasize). 9. Serves purpose(s) or achieves objective(s) for Rasta. 10. Never causes a headache for wearer. That is, a need will not arise to cut, shave or trim hair, whatever its quantity, length and however long it remains on the head. ________________ ...
