Definition: A play for the theatre, television or radio.

* All seven elements should be in.


1. Purposeful and necessary to perform or stage play.

2. Storyline or script is excellent, in the opinion of audience, viewers, listeners, readers, etc.

3. Has bits of all. That is, story is not easily predictable. In other words, play has surprise, excitement, shock, disbelief, the routine and the absurd, annoyance, etc., etc.

4. Well dramatized or acted. That is, all the actors and/or actresses perform as A-grade artistes.

5. Duration is considered appropriate for audience. And play has an end. That is, play is not an unending series of events.

6. Ending is not bad, in the opinion of viewers, etc. especially for the 'good guys', main characters, etc. (unless a bad ending is considered as just deserts). In other words, whether a comedy, tragedy or dramedy, play has a good ending (to emphasize).

7. Audience is entertained. That is, play serves purpose(s), as hoped for. In other words, no incidents of disappointment with outcome, no slow handclap or boos during performance, no departure, turning or switching off, before the end of a show, as a result of disgust, etc.
