Purposeful to maintain pace, be it for training or otherwise. 2. Necessity to 'run' will not be in doubt, whatever the distance. 3. Distance to be covered will be considered worth the exercise. 4. Placement of steps will not result in an injury or wound to runner. 5. Who doubles is believed healthy enough to survive increased pacing. 6. Duration or momentum, direction, etc., would be OK (connect to #5). 7. Discipline, punishment, etc. achieves goal(s) or serves purpose(s). NB.
