| DOOMSDAY CULT Definition: A religious cult whose members believe that the world is about to end. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Belief has no basis or footing in a faith or religion. That is, no passage or quote can be used to justify assumption. _____________________________________ EPHESIANS 3:21; ISAIAH 45:17. 2. Individuals or the collective will have no worldly materials or investments from which much or substantial profit, benefit or return on investment will be anticipated or expected in the future. _____________________________________ See perfect OTHER-WORLDLINESS. 3. No person is forced to belong to group - not siblings, offspring or spouse(s)! And voluntary disengagement from group will not be made difficult. _______________________________ See perfect BRAINWASHING. 4. Never involved in activities - legal or illegal - that will be considered as against society's rules or secular laws, such that can threaten its continued existence or result in its annihilation. ______________________________________ There is one born every minute. 5. Group will not ordinarily do something to cause the occurrence or avoidance of an 'accidental death', for example mass suicide, escape from a natural disaster; won't appeal a death sentence, won't sponsor an assassination, etc. That is, they are only waiting and waiting and still waiting ... for that rapture or the Apocalypse. ___________________________________________ It takes all sorts (to make a world). 6.
