| DO-GOODER Definition: (informal, disapproving) A person who tries to help other people but who does it in a way that is annoying. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Person has a purpose and considers it a necessity to help. 2. Knows the kind of help that is required. (And his or her offer cannot be rejected or turned down.) 3. Gives the assistance timely and in the right measure(s), not in the proper style. 4. Never gets told, in a direct manner, to change or alter way(s). 5. Does not get hints - grumblings, body language, etc. - to change method(s) adopted in the provision of help. 6. Spends an unnecessarily long period providing help. That is, takes extra time in rendering assistance, whatever the difficulties or losses that may be involved (connect to #7). 7. (Reserved.) (Insists on completing and actually finishes the task.) 8. Demands no reward (= pay, compensation, applause, etc.) for the help rendered. 9.
