| DIVE (5) Definition: (British English) (in football (soccer), hockey, etc.) A deliberate fall that a player makes when somebody tackles them, so that the referee awards a foul. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, in the opinion of cheat. 2. 'Simulation' takes place at the right time - when play is still on! 3. No injury to 'diver' and/or tackler(s) from 'fall'. 4. No negative fallout from the act. That is, no physical exchange between players as an outcome of trickery. And no attack from an opponent's supporter(s) after the game! 5. Referee was successfully conned. That is, a foul was awarded based on the (assumed) 'fall'. 6. An obvious advantage - penalty, point reduction, time-wasting, sending-off of opponent, etc. - was earned from the foul awarded.
