DISENGAGEMENT (3)

Definition: Being no longer engaged to be married.

1. Purposeful and considered necessary, for the initiator of 'want out' or 'discharge', especially if decision is not fully acceptable to the other party.

2. Relationship was earlier believed, to be 'impregnable', rock-solid (to emphasize).

3. Choice was voluntarily made, whether it was mutually agreed or a one-partner decision.

4. Decision was made timely - not when bride-to-be's (= the woman's) pregnancy has been established.

5. There is a basis for calling off engagement (connect to #1 & #6).

6. Reason(s) is/are factual and is/are made known to the other party, where the break-up is not mutual, whether the wrong(s) is/are admitted or denied.
