Disarmament
DISARMAMENT

Definition: The fact of a country reducing the size of its armed forces or the number of weapons, especially nuclear weapons, that it has.

1. Purposeful and considered necessary by the country involved.

2. Voluntarily done - not under pressure or compulsion of international law.

3. Reduction is to an appreciable and appropriate level.

4. Quality of arms and men retained is the right type.

5. Timing of reduction is right (connect to #7).

6. A future need to recruit additional personnel or to acquire more (newer?) weapons will not arise.

7. Reduction will not be regretted in the future. That is, country will not lose a future war as an outcome of demobilization.

8. Demobilized men and materials will not end up being utilized wrongly, especially by the country's enemies, ... within or without.
