| DERELICTION OF DUTY Definition: (formal) Deliberate or accidental failure to do what you should do as part of your job. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, especially if deliberate. Or unplanned and undesired, where accidental. 2. Won't be admitted gleefully, even if deliberate. Or won't be announced proudly, where accidental. 3. Fallout or consequences do exist in situation, for organization or employer and also for the culprit or offender. 4. A sanction or punishment will be meted to whoever abandons role. 5. Some other person can be called, at short notice, to fill in gap. That is, a possibility to have someone else perform task will exist. 6. Loss that will be suffered, as an outcome of failing, will not lead to a collapse or the downfall of company or employer, or cause the dismissal or demotion of the 'guilty' employee. 7. Achieves goal(s) if deliberate.
