| DEMONSTRATION (1) Definition: [ ~ against somebody/something) ] A public meeting or march at which people show that they are protesting against or supporting somebody/something. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Purposeful (to emphasize, connect to #2). 2. Considered necessary to go public with request. 3. Not illegal, with or without a security/police cover. 4. Planned to the minutest details - embarkation/departure point(s), route(s), logistics, etc. 5. Cause for which meeting or march is being organized is known, and understood, by all the participants (and no underage persons are among the attendees/marchers). 6. No mishap(s) during the activities - not to the marchers, police, passers-by, hoodlums, etc. And no public or private property is destroyed as a result of protest. 7. The message - placard, speech/talk (= megaphone remarks), etc. is clearly readable, audible and is read/heard/delivered, as applicable. That is, message meant to be delivered by demonstrators is received by those it is meant for. 8. Return to point(s) of departure by demonstrators is smooth and timely. That is, event ends promptly and there is no problem on return journeys for the protesters/organizers. 9. Achieves objective(s), as hoped for.
