| DEDICATION (3) Definition: The words that are used at the beginning of a book, piece of music, a performance, etc. to offer it to somebody as a sign of thanks or respect. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (see definition). 2. Considered necessary to express thanks or show respect in the opinion of writer, performer, etc. to particular person(s). 3. Details (names, etc.) of the person being acknowledged are correct and complete - not possible to mistake helper for another person with the same name(s) mentioned - a human being, not God Almighty! (To emphasize.) 4. Words are carefully chosen - without ambiguity or parenthesis that may result in a misinterpretation or misunderstanding. 5. Contribution(s) of person to the endeavour, or the relationship, is/are stated, even if only in general terms. 6. Person being thanked or shown respect sees or hears or reads what is said or written, whether he or she acknowledges this or not. 7.
