| DECOLONIZATION Definition: The process of a colony or colonies becoming independent. ______________________________________________________________________ * All ten elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. Starts from a realization, by the colonized people, of the need or necessity to be free. 3. Planning and scheming by 'patriots', etc. commences. 4. Requests and agitation, including protests and rallies, where necessary, are made or organized. 5. Negotiation, discussions, etc. take place between agitators and the colonizers. 6. Concessions, compromise, etc. are reached (connect to #5). 7. Planning and preparation for the granting and obtaining of independence, are made by the parties involved in process (connect to #5 & #6). 8. Final agreements are signed, endorsed, etc. 9. Declaration and exchange of legal instruments are done. And official release or handover is effected. 10.
