| DEAD LETTER (2) Definition: (especially North American English) A letter that cannot be delivered to an address or to the person who sent it. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. The letter has a purpose and was considered necessary to write. 2. Address exists and is clearly and correctly written or provided for the bearer of letter. And can be reached! 3. Firm orders are for missive not to be returned to sender or writer, no matter what happens, after it has been collected to be delivered. 4. There is a sure danger - arrest, vituperation, brawl, etc. - to who may deliver note, if it is delivered. 5. Cannot be delivered to a neighbour or given to a third party, for it to be passed on to the rightful recipient. (Connect to #3.) 6. The contents or the message, whatever these are, somehow gets across to the intended receiver. 7.
