Daydreamer
DAYDREAMER

Definition: A person who daydreams (= thinks about pleasant things for a period of time, usually about things they would like to happen).

1. Conscious and fully aware that his or her mind is 'playing tricks' on him or her. That is, sensible enough to tell the difference.

2. Will claim to have a purpose and believes it a necessity to live in cloud-cuckoo-land or luxuriate in fantasy-land.

3. Thoughts will usually be of things that cannot be easily or immediately obtained or accomplished.

4. Never makes an attempt to leave dreamland. That is, will not try to realize wishes or desires by putting in any concerted effort.

5. Suffers no loss as a result of wishful thinking. That is, the time spent will not be that meant for some other serious endeavour.

6. Won't take another person into his or her world; can't risk being woken up or have reverie disturbed or disrupted.

7. Cannot fall 'asleep' or into a trance in the course of 'dreaming'. That is, he or she will be able to react, if an emergency arises.

8. Duration of the dream will be considered reasonable, after which a realization of the necessity to be practical sets in.

9. Dreamer forgets imaginings and faces the facts on 'waking', even if prayers or fast are stepped up afterwards.
