| DAWN RAID (1) Definition: If police officers carry out a dawn raid, they go to someone's house very early in the morning to search it or arrest them. ______________________________________________________________________ * All three or four or five elements, as applicable, should be in. 1. Purposeful and considered necessary, by the police, to achieve specific aim(s). (See definition.) 2. Authorized or approved by the relevant police official(s)/organ(s). 3. Planned and conducted successfully, with no unplanned loss being suffered by the raiders. That is, achieves objective(s). In other words, search reveals something and the person arrested does not escape afterwards. 4. Ends before sunrise. That is, neighbour(s), if any, will wake and hear nothing or see no 'action'. 5.
