DAMAGE (3)

Definition: (usually - damages) An amount of money that a court decides should be paid to somebody by the person, company, etc. that has caused them harm or injury.

1. Purposeful and considered necessary in court's opinion.

2. Legal. That is, court has jurisdiction and authority to impose this particular type of punishment.

3. Amount awarded is not nullified, reduced or increased, by a higher court, on appeal.

4. (Reserved.) (Sum does not render payer bankrupt or ruin finances.)

5. Paid timely and with genuine, not counterfeit, money/notes, etc. - from whatever source(s).

6. Payment is as per the directives of court in respect of tranches, time, etc. (Connect to #5.)

7. Serves purpose(s) and/or results in a lesson being learned by payer.

8. The judge, member of jury or court official(s) do not benefit from payment, by way of an 'appreciation' by the recipient. (To emphasize.)
