Dalton's law
DALTON'S LAW

Definition: (physics) The statement that the total pressure of a mixture of gasses which do not combine chemically is the sum of their partial pressures. The partial pressure is that pressure which each gas would exert if it alone occupied the volume of the mixture, at the same temperature. Thus each gas in a mixture exerts its own pressure, independently of the others.
