Cumulative evidence
CUMULATIVE EVIDENCE

Definition: (law) Evidence which reinforces evidence already given.

* All six elements would be in.


1. Purposeful and necessary to give supporting proof (whether subpoenaed or voluntarily provided).

2. Complete and different from the previous evidence (from the prosecution, or defense, or friend of court).

3. Provided by a different witness (and if by the same person, not immediately after the 'minor' evidence).

4. Given during cross-questioning or a cross-examination (or volunteered on an appeal, in an allocutus, etc.)

5. Self-evident and/or will not need to be reconfirmed (or the process of validating veracity will be easy).

6. Must be taken into consideration in making a ruling or passing judgement (admissible in a court of law!).
