(mainly British) A short road which is closed off at one end. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to have type of road. 2. Street or road in on a map, SATNAV, an 'A to Z', etc. 3. Will have no sign at the beginning indicating its dead-end nature. 4. Completely closed, even to cyclists, pedestrians, riders, etc. 5. Brings no unplanned loss to residents, especially in an emergency. 6.
