| CRYING SHAME Definition: (idiomatic - be a crying shame) (informal) Used to emphasize that you think something is extremely bad or shocking. ______________________________________________________________________ * Usage is appropriate if all six elements are in. 1. The perpetrator(s) or doer(s) of bad or wrong(s) is/are supposedly in his/her/their right senses or normal frame(s) of mind, at the time of committing despicable and condemnable act. 2. Who does the extremely bad or shocking thing cannot rationalize action or have a justification or excuse for the (mis)behaviour, whatever advantages or benefits are derived therefrom. 3. Law-enforcement, including the judiciary, the citizenry, and other persons with legal authority that could have stopped wrongs or that can stop bad happening, shamelessly refuses to do so. 4. The majority of the people in a family, community, society, etc. and the environment and lower animals will suffer substantially, from the fallout of the particular event or activity. 5. No real determination or resolve to prevent a recurrence of what causes the bad or shock will be present in the situation. That is, no likelihood that thing will not be repeated and condoned another time. 6. Lip service will constantly be paid to the condemnation or disapproval of the thing, until a change of mind is had or a wake-up call is heeded by those who should stop or deal with misdemeanour. ______________________ See perfect SIGH.
