Cross-examination
CROSS-EXAMINATION

Definition: The careful and detailed questioning of somebody, about answers they have already given, especially in court.

* All eight elements should be in.


1. Purposeful (to emphasize).

2. Approved appropriately to be conducted.

3. Answers previously provided are not taken out of context or misinterpreted during the act/process.

4. Person being cross-examined must respond to the question(s) - no pleading the 'fifth' or 'sixth' or ... !

5. A discovery or revelation arises from the questioning. That is, act serves purpose(s).

6. Act will be concluded once and not result in a further or second '(re)examination', unless ... .

7. Questioning lasts for appropriate duration as determined by judge, court rules, etc.

8. 'Grilling' achieves goal(s), as hoped for (connect to #5 & #6).
