| CRITICISM (1) Definition: [ ~ (of somebody/something)/ ~ (that ...) ] The act of expressing disapproval of somebody/something and opinions about their faults or bad qualities; a statement showing disapproval. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. * This is about the expression. 1. Purposeful - to achieve an improvement, enhance quality, ... not to destroy, damage, embarrass, etc. 2. Considered a necessity, by the critic, to criticize, whether it is demanded or unsolicited. 3. 'Researched'. That is, expression is based on an informed opinion. In other words, what is said is true, correct and proper; not undue or frivolous. And the alternative(s) or option(s) is/are stated or mentioned. 4. Delivered appropriately, in respect of time/timing, location, recipient, mode/style, etc. That is, generally expressed in good faith! 5. Listened completely to. Or read and digested, whether 'palatable' or not-so-nice to the hearer/reader. 6. No negative after-effects from the things expressed. That is, speaker or subject of criticism have no regret from what is said and heard. In other words, no brawl, anger, etc. arises from talk/writing. 7. (Reserved. (Taken.) (Connect to #6!) 8.
