Creep (5)
CREEP (5)

Definition: (physics) The slow movement of a solid under stress, due to its rigidity breaking down momentarily, to be replaced by viscosity. The stress is thereby reduced and rigidity is restored, only to break down again, and so on. This occurs more readily if the temperature is high, since the solid is able to exhibit viscosity more easily.
