| CRASH LANDING Definition: The forced, emergency and rough landing of a plane, by a pilot, usually because it is damaged and cannot land properly. ______________________________________________________________________ * All fourteen elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (see definition). 2. Necessity to make emergency, rough landing. 3. Announcement or communication with control tower, if any, on the pending crash is made at the appropriate time, before or immediately decision to go down is taken. And other procedures are professionally followed! 4. No serious damage to the plane on crashing. (Connect to #6.) 5. No loss of a life, or lives, will occur as a result of the forced landing. 6. Plane can be and is towed or recovered from where it crash lands. 7. And the humans, etc. are rescued in good time from crash site! 8. Investigations are conducted from the crash survivors, black box, 'carcass', etc. to help avoid a repeat. 9. The crash environment or an ecosystem around place is not seriously damaged or despoiled as a result of the accident. 10. No serious loss occurs in the situation. (Connect to #6 & #7.) 11. Pilot in control of plane is qualified - not a trainee pilot, who may not be able to correctly read and interpret the instruments! 12. Crash land was not a 'crash test'. That is, 'roughness' was real, not a deliberate act performed and claimed as an emergency. 13. Forced, emergency rough landing serves purpose(s), whatever this/these is/are (connect to #5 & #8). 14.
