| COURTLINESS (1) Definition: Being extremely polite and full of respect, especially in an old-fashioned way. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and considered necessary by the person who 'grovels' with no expectation of a gain. 2. Not expected from who gives and cannot be stopped by who gets an extremely courteous treatment. 3. Extent or measure of a polite or respectful gesture will be believed to be clearly over-the-top. 4. Some embarrassment or discomfort, an inconvenience or a misgiving, etc. will be had by recipient(s), whether or not this is admitted. 5. An acknowledgement of a polite act or respectful action will normally be demanded by the giver, even if subtly, in the situation. 6.
