Continuous voyage
CONTINUOUS VOYAGE

Definition: An international law doctrine maintaining that a voyage interrupted at an intermediate port is continuous. It was conceived by the British during the Napoleonic Wars to halt U.S. shipment of goods to France and upheld by the U.S.A. during the Civil war.
