| CONFLAGRATION Definition: (formal) A very large fire that destroys a lot of land or buildings. ______________________________________________________________________ * All five or six elements, as applicable, would be in. 1. Fire was predicted or forecast. Or it was deliberately set. 2. No crops on the land and no valuables in the buildings. That is, land is not under a productive use, and buildings are unimportant, at the time of inferno. 3. Fire is put out at the right time. That is, does not spread to other areas that may result in great losses of materials and lives. 4. Expanse of land or carcass of buildings still has some usefulness after the fire. 5. Edible animals (= bush meat, etc.), if any, on the land, do not die, are not killed (or captured) as a result of large fire. 6.
