| CONFIDENTIALITY Definition: A situation in which you expect somebody to keep information secret. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. Justified in your opinion, to expect the person to keep information under wraps. 3. Information is not already in the public domain. That is, a real chance exists in the circumstance for information to be kept secret. 4. A specific request or demand is made for information not to be disclosed to unauthorized person(s). 5. Person(s) expected to keep secret(s) clearly understands the request made (connect to #4). 6. Information is not injurious, damaging or disadvantageous to the person(s) expected to keep it secret. That is, keeping information secret will not become a problem for the person (to emphasize). 7. (Reserved.) (Person(s) expected to keep information secret is not a blabbermouth or 'loudmouth' and has no reputation for flippancy, thoughtlessness, etc.) 8.
