| COMPASSIONATE LEAVE Definitions: i. (British English) Time that you are allowed to be away from work because somebody in your family is ill/sick or has died. ii. The time away from your work that your employer allows you for personal reasons, especially when a member of your family dies or is seriously ill. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to be given period off. 2. Authorized or approved by superior authority, after an application is submitted or on a request being made. 3. You are truly related to the person indisposed or to who has dead. That is, no dispute about the paternity of, or relationship with, the 'family member'. 4. You will visit the sick/ill or attend the funeral or go to the graveyard. That is, authorization will serve purpose(s). 5. Health of the person ill/sick does not get worse as a result of your conduct during visit. Or funeral ceremonies do not get disrupted by your unwanted presence (connect to #4). 6. You commit no crime or illegality during the time away. That is, no unplanned loss, inconvenience, etc. will be suffered by you. 7. Period will not be exceeded and/or extended without an authorization which would be given before initial expiration of leave. ______________________________ See perfect MERCY (1).
