| COLUMN (4) Definition: A part of a newspaper or magazine which appears regularly and deals with a particular subject or is written by a particular writer. ______________________________________________________________________ * All twelve elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and considered a necessity by the editor - from a freelancer of paid writer, whatever the subject. 2. Subject or topic is a 'live' issue/matter and writing is most current, up-to-date. 3. Style and language is constant, unchanging. Or where format changes, this is appropriately explained and properly understood. 4. No off-day! And if there will be an off-day, this is made known, well in advance. (See definition, to emphasize.) 5. No mistake or error in the writing or write-up, not of facts or details, in tenses or wordings, etc., even if article is shit-stirring. 6. Space is never loaned to a guest writer or taken by a reader's response or a paid supplement. And what is published is never a repeat (connect to #4). 7. Readership base, that is, 'followership', is solid. 8. Writer or writing is true or truthful - with or without a pen name. 9. Print quality is excellent (connect to #10). 10. What is written has a high degree of readability and always makes sense when read. And, so, article will always be read completely. 11. Objective(s) of regularity and particularity of subject/writer is/are achieved for writer/newspaper/readers. (Connect to #5.) 12. No issue such as a defamation/libel suit arises from the part.
