Cold call
COLD CALL

Definition: If someone makes a cold call, they telephone or visit someone they have never contacted, without making an appointment, in order to try and sell something.

* All seven elements should be in.


1. Purposeful and necessary for the hopeful seller-to-be.

2. Cost of call or trip will be paid for, by or on behalf of who surprises, not by the prospective client/customer.

3. Caller or visitor will start process of attempting to sell product by first doing a self introduction.

4. Usage of words, style of speech, and the language or languages used in communicating with buyer-to-be will be appropriate.

5. Activities involved such as persuasion, presentation, display, etc., will be concluded or completed during one call or in a single visit session. And actions won't take forever to be finished.

6. No romantic or amorous relationship will be established, between seller and buyer, once or after business transaction is over.

7. Serves purpose(s) or achieves goal(s), even if gain or benefit will only be realized in the future.
