| CLIMBDOWN Definition: (British English) An act of admitting that you were wrong, or of changing your position in an argument. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to admit or change mind. 2. Act is voluntarily undertaken - not likely to be renounced later. 3. An admission or change of mind is not halfhearted. 4. 'Surrender' or change is timely to help achieve goal(s). 5. Nothing important is lost by the admission or change. 6. New assertion or position, if any, is the true or correct one (to emphasize, connect to #5). 7. Act serves achieves objective(s), whatever this/these is/are. 8. There is a gain in the situation, though this might not be realized immediately.
